Dear ThinkTech Hosts:
Host Bulletin, Week of June 5, 2022
Distinguished Guest Nominations
Click here to nominate one of your guests from one of your April shows to be a Distinguished Guest! Only the first 10 nominations will make the ballot. Nominations close next Tuesday, June 7 and voting will begin on June 10. The results of the election will be posted in our email advisories on June 20. The winning candidate for Distinguished Guest will be profiled in a short video for our livestreams and social media. Last month's winner was Theresa Y. Wee, nominated by host Wendy Loh of "Taking Your Health Back".
Lieutenant Governor Webinar
Join us for an invaluable ThinkTech Hawaii webinar on Friday, July 1. "Who's Running for Lieutenant Governor?" will explore what this year's candidates stand for beyond their public platforms. Featuring candidates Keith Amemiya, Ikaika Anderson, Sylvia Luke and Sherry Menor-McNamara, the 90 minute program will be moderated by local attorney/community leader Louise Ing. The forum will help you decide how you will vote. Please register at https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_9yhQ6bqMQl6FUXoZpjtnLA.
We also appreciate you circulating this information among your own contacts.
Preparing Guests
When guests confirm they can appear on your show, help them prepare by sending them the Appearance Guidelines and Graphics Guidelines. Last-minute back-and-forth emails from uninformed guests can be stressful to you, your guests, and our staff. Sending the guidelines before you complete your show information gives them more time to ready everything they need for the show and ask questions if necessary.
Special Shows/Guests
Sometimes a special guest becomes available at the last minute and we need a host to step in, eg. on a general show like Community Matters. Would you be willing to be on call for those opportunities? Some of our best and most popular shows are these ad hoc interviews! Please let us know.
Promotion Tip
During your show, encourage viewer engagement by asking them to email questions to questions@thinktechhawaii.com. Of course, you can decide whether the question is appropriate to the conversation and reframe it as necessary. If the guest only partially answers a question, don’t hesitate to follow up. We also send the links to your video to anyone who asks a question, so they can see the final product and share it with others.
Questions, please contact hayley@thinktechhawaii.com.
